During her senior year at Lesley University, Sophie found herself tired of constantly analyzing her image in order to create self portraits. Instead of stepping away from her work, she created PULL. To her, the painting depicts her exhaustion and fatigue within her self image.

Sophie Pearson’s work revolves around the experience of living in a fat body as a child into adulthood. In painting, she creates images which are personal to her but relatable to many. Each painting is heavily up to interpretation based on the lived experiences of each and every viewer.
